FOXDOG

Silent and slender-footed the fox pauses in the periphery of a towering street light and peers across to where our dogs stand as lawn sentries with ears pointed forward. They have learned to patrol the same suburban landscape as kindred rivals and olfactory pen pals. FOXDOG is the true story of these intersecting worlds, told in parable through the poetry and painting of humans.

I wrote FOXDOG after observing these enigmatic standoffs, and my sister painted the illustrations. Miso the lab is the DOG, and his brother Soba the pomerianian-husky is the model for the FOX.
